About Teknopark İzmir
Teknopark Izmir is an innovation and technology development hub located within the campus of Izmir Institute of Technology in Turkey. Established in 2002, it commenced its operations in 2004. Over the years, Teknopark Izmir has emerged as a significant player in the field of innovation and technology in Turkey, hosting research and development (R&D) firms, startup incubators, and ongoing projects.
Since its inception, Teknopark Izmir has successfully managed more than 2,600 R&D, software, and design projects. It currently houses over 187 domestic and foreign R&D companies, supported by a dedicated team of over 1,300 professionals involved in R&D and technical support. The collective efforts of Teknopark Izmir have contributed to a total export value of more than 140 million US Dollars and a revenue exceeding 2 billion Turkish Lira, making it a valuable contributor to the national economy.
In 2016, Teknopark Izmir established its first supported and guided project, the Innovation Center, with the backing of Turkey's development agency.
Moreover, Teknopark Izmir has launched the Izmir Commercialization Network and Innovation Center (Izmir NIC), an international accelerator program known as Accelerate Izmir, with co-financing from the European Union and the Republic of Turkey. Within this framework, Teknopark Izmir is committed to supporting the commercialization and internationalization of innovative products developed by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups.
As a key player in Turkey's technology ecosystem, Teknopark Izmir continues to play a pivotal role in driving research, development, and innovation, and bridging the gap between academia and industry.
