Job Description: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Location: Istanbul, Turkey (On-site)

Contract Duration: 3 years

We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to join our organization. As the CTO, you will be responsible for leading our technology strategy and driving innovation to support our business goals. With over 10 years of experience in the technology industry, you will bring a deep understanding of project management and system architecture to guide our development teams and ensure the successful implementation of our technology initiatives.

Responsibilities:

1. Technology Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive technology strategy aligned with our business objectives, ensuring that our technology solutions are scalable, secure, and innovative.
2. Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of technology projects, ensuring they are completed within budget and timeline constraints. Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and efficient project management practices.
3. System Architecture: Define and maintain the overall system architecture, ensuring that it aligns with industry best practices and meets the organization's current and future needs. Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools to support our business objectives.
4. Team Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing technology team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, promoting their professional growth and development.
5. Technology Evaluation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and evaluate their potential impact on our organization. Make recommendations for technology adoption or enhancements to improve operational efficiency and competitiveness.
6. Risk Management: Identify potential technology risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure the security, confidentiality, and integrity of our systems and data. Implement robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
7. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with technology vendors and strategic partners, ensuring effective collaboration and delivery of outsourced technology services. Negotiate contracts and service level agreements to optimize value and quality.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

As a Senior Python Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining efficient and scalable Python-based applications. Your expertise in Python programming and software development principles will be crucial in creating high-quality software solutions and driving innovation within the development team. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers and UI/UX designers, to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliver robust software solutions. Your role will also involve mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior developers, ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices. As a senior member of the team, you will be expected to stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in the Python ecosystem, and apply them to enhance the overall development process. Your strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently and within a team will contribute to the success of our projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience as a Python Developer, with a focus on backend development
• Expertise in Python programming and familiarity with Python frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask)
• Solid understanding of software development principles, object-oriented programming, and design patterns
• Experience working with databases and SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB)
• Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior developers is a plus
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, and/or test software needed for various projects: write server-side code for web-based applications while implementing solutions for information retrieval, distributed computing, and large-scale software systems.
• Perform reverse engineering and code refactoring for existing products (100% backend)

• Work with the rest of the Engineering team on developing and testing of new technologies
• Document system design and procedures
• Participate in team meetings

Qualifications

• A 4 year bachelor degree in computer science, engineering, physics, mathematics or another equivalent field with strong programming curriculum.
• Minimum of 5 years prior development experience in the following areas;
• Solid understanding of an application build lifecycle & steps needed to validate a build
• Strong knowledge in Java OOPs and Design Patterns
• Strong knowledge in Spring MCV And Hibernate.
• Experience with network protocols.
• Experience with build tools such as Maven, and Gradle
• Experience with Database Design/Modeling, SQL, PostgreSQL database preferred
• Experience with the following technologies: Spring Boot, REST/Web Services, Linux
• Experience with containers (Docker), Terraform, Kubernetes is a big plus
• Understanding of concepts around Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery with experience implementing these concepts
• Experience with Agile Software Development methodologies and development lifecycle knowledge
